Pre-MOT Check

A Pre-MOT Check is a comprehensive inspection carried out before your vehicle’s official MOT test to identify faults, defects and potential advisory items in advance.

At Doyen Auto Services in Dumbarton, we are not a DVSA-authorised MOT testing station, so we do not issue MOT certificates. Instead, our Pre-MOT Check is designed to prepare your vehicle for its official MOT at a test centre of your choice.

Our inspection follows the key areas assessed during the MOT and combines a detailed physical inspection with appropriate diagnostic checks where required. The aim is to identify problems before they result in an unexpected MOT failure.

Our Pre-MOT Check can include:

We look for defects that could potentially result in an MOT failure, as well as items that may be recorded as advisories or require attention in the near future.
